Baseball Game Preview: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights vs. Sparta Academy Warriors

The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights will challenge the Sparta Academy Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Macon-East Montgomery Academy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Sparta Academy has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy barely beat Coosa Valley Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Rebels a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sparta Academy lost 13-3 to Crenshaw Christian Academy on Thursday.

Sparta Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Murfee Williams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Sparta Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-20.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Sparta Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
