Baseball Recap: Oswego East Triumphs

Oswego East took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Neuqua Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Oswego East narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Neuqua Valley 6-4. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 12-5 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Devin Wheaton looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Wilson Terrutty was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacsen Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Oswego East's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Neuqua Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswego East will challenge Conant at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Conant's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Oswego East's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Neuqua Valley, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Neuqua Valley Wildcats take on Lyons Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
