Softball Recap: Firebaugh Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Firebaugh had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pioneer Titans 9-8. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by just one run.

The win made it two in a row for Firebaugh and bumps their season record up to 18-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Pioneer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Firebaugh will square off against Notre Dame at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
