Volleyball Recap: Grayslake North Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Josh Hercog and Noah Sanzana

Grayslake North lost against Grant Community back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Knights fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-20 in the first set.

Grayslake North started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Grayslake North had strong showings from Noah Sanzana, who had 18 assists and 13 digs, and Josh Hercog, who had six assists and four digs. Esteban Oviedo also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Grant Community can attribute much of their success to Lance Lavajo, who had nine digs.

Grayslake North's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Grant Community, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.

Grayslake North has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Grayslake Central on the 24th. As for Grant Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Round Lake on the 24th.
