Basketball Recap: Easton Rhodes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Learning Center over Plaza Heights Christian Academy

Christian Learning Center lost against Plaza Heights Christian Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The matchup between the Christian Learning Center Mustangs and Plaza Heights Christian Academy didn't end well, with the Christian Learning Center Mustangs falling 61-47. The Mustangs were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Rhodes, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hill, who went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points.

Leading Plaza Heights Christian Academy to victory were Luke Jones and Remi Schieber. Jones went 8 of 17 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals, while Schieber went 6 for 11 en route to 18 points. That's the most steals Jones has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was George Carpenter, who posted four points.

Christian Learning Center dropped their record down to 9-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, their record is now 12-6.

Christian Learning Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-44 win against Overland Christian on the 17th. Plaza Heights Christian Academy has also already played their next game, a 57-38 victory against Training Center Christian on the 17th.
