Soccer Game Preview: Flanagan vs. South Broward

Flanagan is 0-7 against South Broward since January of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Flanagan Falcons will face off against the South Broward Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Flanagan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Cooper City onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, South Broward came tearing into last Thursday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Panthers are ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jimmy Asprilla was the driving force of South Broward's attack as he scored both of South Broward's goals, bringing his season total up to 11 goals.

South Broward's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine contests. As for Flanagan, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8-4.
