Basketball Preview: North Springs Spartans vs. Cambridge Bears
The North Springs Spartans will be playing at home against the Cambridge Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Springs, who comes in off a win.
Even though North Springs has not done well against the Knights recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. North Springs strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 72-55. The win was just what North Springs needed coming off of a 75-44 loss in their prior game.
Esmer Madesko continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of North Springs' points. Another player making a difference was Troy Hill, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
Cambridge has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chattahoochee on Friday.
North Springs' win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Cambridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season.
North Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bears in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 65-62. Does North Springs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
