Softball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

If St. Joseph was riding high fresh off their 15-1 takedown of Ludlowe last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cadets fell just short of the Trumbull Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Cadets' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Katie Dzialo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Joseph saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Trumbull, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
