Apple Valley will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Granite Hills extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Cougars blew past Victor Valley 19-4.

Britney Zuniga was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Zuniga was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Saylor Croom was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylie Shepard, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Granite Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Apple Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Hesperia on Friday as they made off with a 25-1 win. The Sun Devils haven't had any issues with the Scorpions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Maci Case and Brynne Johnson made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Case tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Johnson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Case has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Case went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Johnson went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Samantha Dollar was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Brooke Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Granite Hills' win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Apple Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7-1.
Apple Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Granite Hills has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Apple Valley, though, as they've been averaging 9.4 hits. Given Granite Hills' sizable advantage in that area, the Sun Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
