Basketball Game Preview: Madison County Mountaineers vs. Stonewall Jackson Generals

The Madison County Mountaineers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Stonewall Jackson Generals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Madison County and 40 for Stonewall Jackson dating back to last season.

Madison County lost 53-31 to Strasburg on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Rams are ranked 116th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-21, which was the final score in Stonewall Jackson's tilt against Clarke County on Monday.

Stonewall Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Madison County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Everything came up roses for Madison County against Stonewall Jackson in their previous matchup last Monday, as the team secured a 56-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
