Softball Recap: Liberty Finds Home Field Redemption Against Dora

There's no place like home for Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past the Dora Falcons 11-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Delanie Ellett made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ellett was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Savannah Holdt was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with ten stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those ten stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Phipps, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Dora, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will host Thayer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dora, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mansfield at 4:30 p.m.
