Basketball Recap: Rex Grabowski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Valley Regional over Vinal RVT

If Valley Regional was riding high fresh off their 68-24 takedown of Westbrook last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valley Regional Warriors took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vinal RVT Hawks on Friday.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rex Grabowski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Grabowski a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Braden Evans, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points along with six boards and three blocks.

Valley Regional's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Valley Regional will head out to square off against Cromwell at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Regional is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Vinal RVT, they will host Goodwin Tech at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
