Recap: Choctaw vs. Grant

Grant had home field advantage when it faced off against Star-Spencer two games ago, but the team wasn't able to capitalize. No surprise then that heading on the road didn't bring a better result. There's no need to mince words: Grant lost to Choctaw last week, and it lost bad. The score wound up at 52 - 12.

Choctaw had a mediocre defensive performance in the first half, giving up 21 points. That left it at a 21 - 7 disadvantage. As for the offense, it stepped up its game in the second half with 17 points, but the better effort was too little too late.

Despite Choctaw's defeat, the squad still enjoyed a top-notch performance from senior Hudson Woods, who finished up with 132 yards passing and one rushing touchdown.

Grant's record fell to 1-6 after the loss. The defeat dropped Choctaw's record to 5-3.

Both teams are aiming to improve upon those records in their upcoming games. Grant will look to defend its home turf against Mount St. Mary this Thursday at 7:00 PM. As for Choctaw, it will square off against Lawton this Thursday at 7:00 PM.
