            Softball Recap: Fillmore Flashes vs. Channel Islands Raiders        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Grace, Fillmore was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Channel Islands Raiders with a sharp  16-1 win. Considering the Flashes have won three contests by more than 12  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Emma Estrella was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Fillmore got a big performance out of  Jennie Ponce, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI.  Arianna Halcon was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI.
 Fillmore  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .528. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Fillmore's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 4-5. As for Channel Islands,  they are  on  an  18-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
 Coming up, Fillmore will face off against Santa Paula at 3:30  p.m.  on March 27th. Channel Islands will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Carpinteria at 3:30  p.m.  on March 31st. Channel Islands is facing Carpinteria at the right time seeing as Carpinteria is stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak.
