The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will square off against the Shadow Ridge Stallions at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Red Mountain comes in on ten and Shadow Ridge on three.
Red Mountain barely beat Kofa the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mountain Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Kings a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won seven matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Payton Westra, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Richardson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Red Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge got the win against Westwood on Friday by a conclusive 10-0.
Shadow Ridge also got a great performance from Avery Mackey as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mackey has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Shadow Ridge let Taylor Agaman and Laci Hughes run wild. Agaman scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Hughes scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Hughes has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Scott, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Red Mountain's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Shadow Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Red Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Shadow Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Red Mountain beat Shadow Ridge 6-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Mountain Lions repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
