Softball Recap: Auburn Mountainview Takes a Loss

Auburn Mountainview made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Peninsula, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Seahawks by a score of 10-8 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Auburn Mountainview has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season. As for Peninsula, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Coming up, Auburn Mountainview will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hermiston at 3:00 p.m. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season. As for Peninsula, they will challenge Southridge at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Suns will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
