Baseball Game Preview: Sparks Railroaders vs. Truckee Wolverines

Sparks hasn't had much luck against Truckee recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Sparks Railroaders will be playing at home against the Truckee Wolverines at 1:00 p.m.

Sparks is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 19th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against North Valleys, falling 10-1.

Sparks saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Rogers, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Truckee can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Wooster by a score of 8-5.

Parker Bacon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keelan Hyams, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Truckee: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Cabrera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Truckee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Sparks' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Truckee, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
