Baseball Game Preview: Owego Free Academy River Hawks vs. Ithaca Little Red

Owego Free Academy is 0-3 against Ithaca since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The River Hawks will be playing at home against the Little Red at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Owego Free Academy has 11 straight victories, Ithaca has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Owego Free Academy barely beat Seton Catholic Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The River Hawks blew past the Saints 13-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the River Hawks, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Brace was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nick Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Ithaca didn't have quite enough to beat Binghamton on Monday and fell 4-3.

Owego Free Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Ithaca, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
