Softball Game Preview: Shelton Gaels vs. Bunnell Bulldogs

The Shelton Gaels will head out on the road to face off against the Bunnell Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Shelton's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Bunnell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Shelton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mercy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Gaels fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Gaels haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Sunday as neither Bunnell nor Newtown made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Nighthawks by a score of 6-5.

Bunnell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shea Toth, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Shelton's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Bunnell, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
