League recap: West Carteret scores huge upset over West Craven

The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Craven, who took down 147th ranked West Craven, 35-20. Joseph Grant ran for 161 yards in the win.

West Carteret was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in 3A Coastal. The Patriots vanquished the Eagles 35-20 earlier in the week.

Jimmy Williams put up the best numbers through the air as Washington topped Conley. He finished with seven completions for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Williams' favorite target this week was DJ Bell, who caught one pass for 40 yards.

Kris Lindner was the best wideout in the league this week as West Carteret bested West Craven. Lindner racked up two receptions for 53 yards.

Havelock's Pharoh Cooper and Michael Bowman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cooper has thrown for 1666 yards this season, while Bowman, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 29 catches for 492 yards. Trevor Festerman from Todd Nelson's team leads the league in rushing with 1182 yards.

The top two teams in 3A Coastal will face off this week when first place Havelock takes on second place West Carteret. Last week, the Rams defeated Jacksonville, while the Patriots beat Matthew Riggsbee's team.

The Pam-Pack moved up to 72 from 100 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Washington climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Vikings 26-21.
