Volleyball Recap: Crest Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Forestview last Thursday, Crest came back down to earth. The Chargers fell just short of the South Point Red Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Chargers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Raiders 25-17 in the first set.

Crest actually scored more points across those five sets (106-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, Crest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Casey Goodrum had 14 digs and two aces.

Kaitlyn Ledford went supernova For South Point., getting 20 digs and two aces. Those 20 digs gave Ledford a new career-high.

Crest's loss ended a nine-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-13. As for South Point, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 14-8.

Crest has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Huss on the 2nd. As for South Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against North Gaston on the 2nd.
