            Football Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. South Kingstown Rebels        
        
		
        
        
             The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to  take on the South Kingstown Rebels  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln faced off against North Providence on Friday. The Lions fell  14-8 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 37  points in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Meanwhile, South Kingstown faced Tolman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rebels took their  game  with ease, bagging  a  47-20 victory over the Tigers. Considering the Rebels have won three contests by more than 26  points this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 South Kingstown is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 33.0 points over those games. As for Lincoln, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record  this season.
 Things could have been worse for Lincoln, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took  a  14-0 loss to South Kingstown in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
