Baseball Game Preview: Gibson Southern Titans vs. Castle Knights

Gibson Southern is 1-7 against Castle since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Titans will welcome the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Castle took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gibson Southern, who comes in off a win.

Gibson Southern is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Evansville Reitz 3-2.

Kolton Schmitt looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zach Foster, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Marvel, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Castle started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Varsity Opponent. They fell just short of Varsity Opponent by a score of 10-9 on Wednesday.
