Softball Recap: Centennial's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Centennial dropped their record down to 10-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Timberline Wolves, falling 18-8. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cali Moorhouse made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Josie Moorhouse, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

As for Timberline, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Timberline's side, Delaney Wright was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Wright has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Ayla McDaniel and Mallorie Casch did most of the damage at the plate: McDaniel went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Casch went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave McDaniel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivy Norskog, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
