Soccer Recap: Altoona Starts Season with Victory Against Warren

Altoona had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mountain Lions who were credited with the victory. The Altoona Mountain Lions got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Warren Dragons's four. Galal Ismail had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Altoona got from the refs.

Colin Etters and Bilal Eltayeb scored all three of Altoona's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Altoona wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 4-2 loss against DuBois on the 23rd. As for Warren, they will welcome McDowell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
