Soccer Recap: Altoona Starts Season with Win on the Road

Altoona had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mountain Lions who were credited with the victory on Friday. The Altoona Mountain Lions got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Warren Dragons's four. Galal Ismail had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Altoona got from the refs.

Colin Etters and Bilal Eltayeb scored all three of Altoona's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altoona will be taking part in a tournament against DuBois at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Warren, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on General McLane at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
