Basketball Game Preview: Beech Grove Hornets vs. Tri-West Hendricks Bruins

The Beech Grove Hornets will square off against the Tri-West Hendricks Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Beech Grove will be strutting in after a victory while Tri-West Hendricks will be coming in after a loss.

Beech Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 64-55 win over Newport Central Catholic on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Beech Grove found their leader in freshman Bishop Moore, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 23 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bubby O'Kelley, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Tri-West Hendricks suffered their biggest defeat since January 20th on Saturday. They came up short against Clay City, falling 63-40. The matchup marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Beech Grove will have to keep a close watch on Daniel Thomas and Wes Ward, a pair of players who had a big impact on Tri-West Hendricks' prior game. Thomas went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points, while Ward put up ten points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Miller, who had five points.

Tri-West Hendricks' loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Beech Grove, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Beech Grove against Tri-West Hendricks when the teams last played back in December of 2018, as the team secured a 75-46 victory. In that game, Beech Grove amassed a halftime lead of 46-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
