Volleyball Recap: Standing Bear Takes a Loss

Standing Bear lost against Pius X back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Grizzlies fell 2-0 to the Thunderbolts. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Standing Bear ultimately came up short, they really made Pius X work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-18.

Sydnie Cain paced Standing Bear's offense, picking up 13 kills. Cain got some help from Lindyn Stutzman and her 26 assists. Stutzman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Standing Bear's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Pius X, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Standing Bear will challenge Norris at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pius X, they will face off against Lincoln North Star at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
