Basketball Recap: Syracuse Wins Going Away Against Pine View

The Syracuse Titans beat the Pine View Panthers 69-57 on Friday. That looming 69-57 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Titans yet this season.

Syracuse's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colton Hoenigman, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 19 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Hoenigman a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Skyler Orton, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Syracuse was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only racked up nine.

Pine View lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nate Tueller, who posted 23 points and four steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Ryker Sommer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Syracuse now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pine View, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Syracuse didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-51 victory against Snow Canyon on the 6th. As for Pine View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-50 win against Juan Diego Catholic on the 6th.
