Ignite Athletics unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 6-1 to the Russell Red Devils on Thursday.

Russell pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Ignite Athletics will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ravenswood at 8:00 p.m. on September 2. As for Russell, they will face off against Hurricane at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
