Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson Academy vs. Kent Denver

The Jefferson Academy Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Kent Denver Sun Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kent Denver will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Jefferson Academy extended their winning streak to seven on Saturday. The Jaguars' defense stepped up to hand Peak to Peak a 3-0 shutout. The contest was close at halftime, but Jefferson Academy turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

Meanwhile, Kent Denver got the win against St. Mary's Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. Given Kent Denver's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while St. Mary's Academy are ranked 115th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those five games. As for Kent Denver, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Jefferson Academy skirted past Kent Denver 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Sun Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
