Basketball Recap: South Fort Myers Wolfpack vs. Cypress Lake Panthers
South Fort Myers lost against Cypress Lake back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The South Fort Myers Wolfpack took a hard 54-40 fall against the Cypress Lake Panthers.

Defeat or not, South Fort Myers got some senior leadership from Ja?Mahdi Ward and Wildelson Thermidor. Ward dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards, while Thermidor dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Ward is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Derek Candido, who posted three points.
Even though they lost, South Fort Myers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.
Joe Banks was his usual excellent self, putting up 23 points and four steals for Cypress Lake. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Satterly, who earned nine points.
South Fort Myers' loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Cypress Lake, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-13 record.
South Fort Myers will square off against Community School of Naples at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cypress Lake, they will face off against Island Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Island Coast has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
