Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Takes a Loss

Sparta Academy managed to keep up with Fort Dale Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Warriors took a blow against the Eagles, falling 67-35. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Sparta Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Robert Caldwell, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Murfee Williams, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Sparta Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta Academy will square off against Jackson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Dale Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Valiant Cross Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2026.
