Basketball Game Preview: DePue Little Giants vs. ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars

The DePue Little Giants will head out to take on the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: DePue has struggled recently with 12 defeats in a row, while ROWVA/Williamsfield will arrive with three straight wins.

On Wednesday, DePue had to suffer through a 79-52 loss at the hands of Hinckley-Big Rock. While losing is never fun, the Little Giants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 758th, while the Royals are ranked 279th).

Meanwhile, ROWVA/Williamsfield got the win against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] on Monday by a conclusive 72-47. That looming 72-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

ROWVA/Williamsfield's victory bumped their record up to 10-19. As for DePue, their loss dropped their record down to 2-23.

DePue ended up a good deal behind ROWVA/Williamsfield when the teams last played back in December of 2018, losing 65-51. Can DePue avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
