Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northwestern walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over the Gaffney Indians on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Trojans, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Finley Polk continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 339 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 94 yards and one touchdown. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. Kameron Vance was Polk's top target, picking up 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwestern was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gaffney only rushed for 68 rushing yards.

Northwestern pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Gaffney, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
