Baseball Game Preview: St. Paul's Episcopal Saints vs. Chelsea Hornets

The St. Paul's Episcopal Saints will square off against the Chelsea Hornets at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Chelsea will be up against a hot St. Paul's Episcopal team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. St. Paul's Episcopal never let Fairhope get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday.

Not much got past Bradley Irish, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Fairhope off the board. Those ten strikeouts gave Irish a new career-high.

On the hitting side, St. Paul's Episcopal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Johnston, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Chelsea's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Orange Beach on Friday. Chelsea narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mobile Christian 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since April 4, 2024.

St. Paul's Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chelsea, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
