Softball Recap: Purchase Line Gets the Win

The Purchase Line Red Dragons earned a 7-4 victory over the Bishop McCort Crushers on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Dragons.

Rylee Mahaffey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Houser, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Walker, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Purchase Line's record is now 12-8. As for Bishop McCort, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Purchase Line nor Bishop McCort have any future games scheduled.
