Baseball Recap: North Pitt Comes Up Short

If North Pitt was riding high fresh off their 22-3 takedown of North Edgecombe last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Ayden - Grifton Chargers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost five in a row.

North Pitt saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Mundell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

North Pitt's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Ayden - Grifton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

While North Pitt had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
