Basketball Game Preview: Biggs Wolverines vs. Plumas Charter Warriors

The Biggs Wolverines will challenge the Plumas Charter Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Biggs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They secured an 89-85 W over Los Molinos. The Wolverines' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Biggs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Smith, who went 6-for-12 en route to 23 points in addition to eight assists and six steals. That's the most steals Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. Skyler Long was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 17 boards.

Smith wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Biggs was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Plumas Charter came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 win over the Grizzlies.

Biggs better focus on containing Dalton Bentz and Owen Joseph as the pair were huge in Plumas Charter's win. Bentz dropped a double-double with 30 points and 15 rebounds, while Joseph went 10-for-25 to rack up 24 points and four steals. Bentz's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

Biggs has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. Plumas Charter pushed their record up to 25-5 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Biggs against Plumas Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-43 win. In that game, Biggs amassed a halftime lead of 46-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
