Baseball Recap: Wahkiakum Beats Ocosta for Their Third Straight Victory

Wahkiakum made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ocosta, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Wahkiakum's pitchers stepped up to hand Ocosta an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory was just business as usual for the Mules, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Cooper Carlson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carlson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rusty Morrison, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Morrison is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Wahkiakum's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Ocosta, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wahkiakum will host Naselle at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ocosta, they will take on Oakville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
