Basketball Game Preview: Kuna Kavemen vs. Mountain View Mavericks

Kuna hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kuna Kavemen will square off against the Mountain View Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Kuna will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Kuna is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Ridgevue, who was ranked 11th at the time (Kuna was ranked seventh). Kuna walked away with a 56-47 victory over Ridgevue on Tuesday. While the Kavemen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Mountain View won against Bishop Kelly on Thursday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Mountain View came out on top against Capital by a score of 67-56. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mavericks.

Kuna's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Things could have been worse for Kuna, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-53 loss to Mountain View in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Kuna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
