Baseball Recap: Hug Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Non Varsity Opponent, Hug was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Sparks Railroaders 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Aayan Sheriff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hug is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Hug's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Chavez, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Hug's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Sparks, they are on a 27-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-27.

As of now, neither Hug nor the Railroaders have any future games scheduled.
