Softball Recap: Chester Yellowjackets vs. Red Bud Musketeers
Chester proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Red Bud Musketeers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since March 21st.
Lexie Mott made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Mott was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Elaina Lutman was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Chester's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Red Bud, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Looking ahead, Chester will be playing at home against St. Bede at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Red Bud, they will head out on the road to challenge Okawville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
