Shelby Valley took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Pikeville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Panthers on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 8, 2024.

Shelby Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14. As for Pikeville, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-18.

Shelby Valley has already played their next match (against Harlan County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
