Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Marshall Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-11.

Leading Marshall to victory were Harlem Castro and Eunice Manik. Castro had four aces and three digs, while Manik had four aces. Castro is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to square off against their familiar foe El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marshall will challenge rival Arroyo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
