Volleyball Recap: Youngker Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Kofa on Thursday, Youngker came back down to earth. The Roughriders fell just short of the McClintock Chargers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Roughriders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Youngker started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 22-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Youngker still got an impressive performance from Isabella Fernandez, who had ten digs and three aces.

Youngker's record is now 1-1. As for McClintock, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Youngker is headed away from home for the first time to square off against La Joya Community at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McClintock, they will challenge Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
