It's playoff time, and New Smyrna Beach had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Gateway Panthers by a score of 56-48 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Barracudas as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Leading New Smyrna Beach to victory were Olivia Olson and Iniya Reddicks. Olson dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards, while Reddicks went 7 for 14 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. Olson's morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Riley France, who posted four points and five boards.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlynn Day, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Day is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. AndreA SuAzo was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and three steals.

New Smyrna Beach's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. New Smyrna Beach will face off against Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in New Smyrna Beach's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches. As for Gateway, they will take on Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gateway is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season.
