Game recap: Wakulla High School Football Team defeats Suwannee

LIVE OAK, Fla. - the War Eagles scored 23 points in the second quarter to secure a big 37-14 victory over Suwannee (Live Oak, Fla.) on Saturday.

Wakulla scored on a Demetrius Lindsey touchdown run, a rushing touchdown and a touchdown pass by Feleipe Franks to Lindsey in the quarter.

WHS was up 30-14 at the half after taking the lead on a safety in the second quarter.

The Crawfordville school expanded its lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. The War Eagles scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Sheldon Johnson.



With the win Wakulla extended its winning streak to seven games. WHS defeated the Raiders 35-7 last week.

The War Eagles' most effective player was Lindsey. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.

Wakulla went into the matchup giving up only 13.7 points per game.

WHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-0.

The defeat comes as a step back for Suwannee, which notched a 27-21 victory over Bay in its previous outing.

In a non-conference game next week Suwannee (3-4) takes on Taylor County, and Wakulla (7-0) will go up against Trinity Christian Academy also in a non-conference game.
