Basketball Game Preview: College Place Hawks vs. Royal Knights

College Place is 0-10 against Royal since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The College Place Hawks will head out to challenge the Royal Knights at 7:15 p.m.

College Place is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 99-44 loss at the hands of Zillah. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Leopards are ranked 53rd).

Meanwhile, Royal put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Naches Valley as Royal made off with an 80-56 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Royal's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for College Place, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Things could have been worse for College Place, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-48 loss to Royal when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can College Place avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
