Baseball Game Preview: Citrus Valley Blackhawks vs. Redlands East Valley Wildcats

The Citrus Valley Blackhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Redlands East Valley Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Citrus Valley sitting on five straight victories and Redlands East Valley on 11.

On Thursday, Citrus Valley earned a 5-2 win over Cajon.

Jake Clark looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Cook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Stamper, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Redlands East Valley took on Beaumont on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Redlands East Valley's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Citrus Valley, their record now sits at 16-10.
